Maximus was an amazing boy with a beautiful, unrestrained creative mind. From the beginning he was drawn to build, paint, sculpt, sketch and simply manifest whatever came to him. It showed its face in everything from the poems he wrote to the canvases he stretched and even extended its way into the kitchen in the way he baked. His talent was only surpassed by the wonderous imagination that fed it. Art provided Max with a way to express himself fully and freely. It was a way in which he could connect and share everything he was feeling and thinking. It was a source of energy and strength for him. Maximus loved to share his creations but some things he simply made for himself. We would find them in closets, under beds, tuck away in drawers. To see what he would come up with never failed to bring us pleasure, but to witness the joy and satisfaction it brought him, that was the true gift.
